Marathon
Open Racing - Boat length over 18’. Wing paddles allowed.
Competitive – Boat length 18’ or under. Wing paddles allowed.
Touring – Boat length 18’ and under. No wing paddles.
OCs and doubles will be broken out if registration allows (3+ entries). Men’s, Women’s, and Masters’ (age 40+) classes offered. Competitors will be allowed to register a secondary watercraft as a ‘back-up' in case of challenging conditions. Those competitors who opt to use their secondary watercraft will have their class changed if necessary. All entrants must be 18 years of age on day of event.
Entry fee = $75. This includes shuttle, race t-shirt and post-race party.
Every registrant for the 2008 Marathon course must comply with vetting guidelines. A competitor will qualify for registration by meeting one of the following three criteria:
- Have successfully finished either the Marathon or Short course of the 2007 CSM.
- Attended and completed one of the four training paddles offered throughout the summer of 2008. See Schedule (if registering early, please note which training paddle you plan on attending).
- Submit summary of open water paddling or race experience. If possible, include finish times for similar open water races within the last 5 years.

2 Beach Race
Open Racing - Boat length over 18’ OR 4” or less waterline beam. Wing paddles allowed.
Competitive – Boat length 18’ or under. Wing paddles allowed.
Touring – Boat length 18’ and under. No wing paddles. For newer racers in typical sea kayaks, and experienced paddlers who are less serious about racing.
Recreational – Boat length 18’ or under. No wing paddles. For first time racers and beginner paddlers in slower boats.

Relay
Racing - Boat length over 16’. Wing paddles allowed.
Touring – Boat length 16’ and under. No wing paddles.
Corporate – May be a mixed team. All members must be current employees of represented corporation.
Club – May be a mixed team. All members must be current members of represented club.
Family – May be a mixed team.
All entrants must be 14 years of age on the day of event.
Entry fee = $100/team. This includes race t-shirts and post-race party. |
